How we research, check, update and correct every calculator and article on PaycheckHubs.
Official Sources First
Tax rates, brackets, deductions and wage limits come only from primary sources: the IRS, the Social Security Administration, and each state’s department of revenue or labor agency. We link those sources on the pages that use them, and we don’t take figures from other calculator websites.
Fact-Checking
- Every number in an article or calculator is traced to a source before publishing.
- Worked examples are recalculated from the official formula, separately from the calculator code.
- Calculators must pass their test cases before a change goes live.
Tax-Year Updates
When the IRS or a state publishes figures for a new tax year, we update the data, rerun the affected tests and change the tax year and “last reviewed” date on the page. If a rule can’t be confirmed from an official source, we say so on the page rather than guess.
Review Process
Each page shows when it was last reviewed. Content is reviewed at least once a year and whenever a rule it covers changes.
Corrections
If you spot an error, contact us with the page and details. Confirmed errors are fixed promptly, and significant corrections are noted on the page with the date.
Independence
Our content is written to be useful to readers. If the site shows ads in the future, advertisers will have no say in what we publish or how the calculators work.
