About PaycheckHubs

Last updated October 5, 2026

PaycheckHubs builds free paycheck calculators and pay guides so U.S. workers can see what they'll take home before payday.

Why We Built PaycheckHubs

Job offers are quoted as a yearly salary, shifts are paid by the hour, and the taxes in between change from state to state. Many people only learn their real take-home pay when the first paycheck arrives. Our calculators show that number up front, with every step of the math visible.

Who We Serve

  • Hourly workers checking a paycheck or planning extra shifts
  • Salaried employees comparing job offers, raises or a move to another state
  • Freelancers and contractors planning for taxes no employer withholds
  • Remote workers working out which state's rules apply to their pay
  • HR and payroll staff wanting a quick second check on a figure
  • Job seekers turning a salary range into a monthly budget

How Our Calculators Are Built and Reviewed

  1. Federal figures come from the IRS and the Social Security Administration. State rates and brackets come from the Tax Foundation's 2026 compilation of state tax law, and state payroll programs from each program's official site. Every page lists its sources.
  2. Each figure is recorded with its source and the date it was checked.
  3. Before a calculator goes live, it is tested against worked examples calculated by hand from the official formulas.
  4. When rules change for a new tax year, we update the figures, rerun the tests and change the "last reviewed" date on the page.

Details are in our calculation methodology and editorial policy.

What We Are Not

PaycheckHubs is an independent information website. We are not a government agency and are not affiliated with the IRS, the Social Security Administration or any state tax department. We are not a payroll provider, tax preparer or financial adviser, and our results are estimates.
